Welcome to The Wendy House, a special place for special people. We have three nurseries in the West Midlands - two located at Wythall and one at Lickey.
Choosing a nursery for the most important person in your life is a huge decision – for you and for them.
Your priority is to keep your child safe and secure, and to give them the best possible start in life.
The good news is that your priority is exactly the same as ours. At The Wendy House we have channelled vast amounts of research, thought, energy and enthusiasm into creating a unique environment where your child will have every opportunity to develop into a confident, happy, secure little person.
We strive to be different; we create a little bit of magic every day, and we look forward to sharing it with you.
The Wendy House day nursery was the brain child of Victoria Vann, who started her career as a nursery nurse at the age of 16. Victoria’s ethos has always been to create a vibrant, stimulating environment where children can thrive. She is passionate about the importance of early years education and continuous improvement, always going the extra mile to ensure the children at The Wendy House have a range of activities above and beyond the core early years curriculum to motivate, inspire and fuel their desire to learn.
We have two nursery settings, Wythall and Lynwood, both of which are located conveniently so they are accessible from main roads into and out of commuting routes, making it as easy as possible to drop-off and pick-up.
The nursery is open 07.30-18.00hrs, 52 weeks of the year, except bank holidays. We will apply on your behalf for the free early years funding available from the first complete term after your child’s third birthday.
We welcome childcare vouchers, and our fees are payable a month in advance.
We pride ourselves on creating a safe, inclusive environment for all children.
The Wendy House Day Nursery has remained open throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, to provide much-needed childcare for Key Workers in the first lockdown of 2020, and we are fully open in 2021, with three settings offering adapted provision.
Our priority is to keep children, parents and staff safe. We are limiting visitors to nursery, but we know when you are choosing a nursery there is no substitute for 'seeing' the environment for yourself, so we encourage you to take a virtual tour.
For safe collection and drop-off of children we have implemented the Q-Bell system, which allows parents to ring the bell from the safety of their car, and communicate with staff in a way that's contactless and safe.
All other safety and cleaning protocols are being followed rigorously, we have increased communications with parents and we are adapting day by day.
If you would like to find out more about what we are doing, please contact us.
